THE DESAPARECIDOSIt seems like everywhere I’ve been in the past year has had a fucked up history. The former East Germany, Croatia, Poland, now Argentina; they are all still recovering from murdering totalitarian regimes which had no respect for individual human liberty. I am beginning to understand that these horrors, as terrible as thay are, have not been the exceptions in human history, but the practiced and expected norm. We are very lucky to have been born in the US in the 20th century.
