My name is James Whitaker. I'm 28. I have been traveling around the world since November 2006. I run my internet business from my laptop. My friends think I'm crazy. I think it's crazy to sit a cubicle for more than 5 minutes in a single lifetime. These are my adventures.

The street of Buenos Aires are abuzz with energy tonight, as Cristina, as our roommates call her, steps into power as President. It seems, coming from Germany, that I am destined to globetrot to countries governed by women. As a “Peronist”, in the model of Juan Peron, she is loved by the people and it feels like the 4th of July. There is music outside my window right now, firecrackers pop constantly, and you can feel that the city is overjoyed. As an outsider it feels good to see a people so united in their celebrations. You feel eanest happiness for them, just as I did for the Germans on Oct 3. But at the same time it makes me sad that my own county is so divided right now and I wonder if we’ll be so inclined to celebrate on Nov 5 next year.
