666 - Malo o Bueno Suerte

So Pete and I have arrived in our new apartment. We live at 666 Cata Marca in downtown Buenos Aires. When we told the cabbie our address he gave us the sign of the devil and made pointed Lucifer ears with his hands. But the place is as far as possible from anything bad. We live with a German girl Yanna, her Argentine boyfriend Jorge, and Jorge’s brother. The house is actually an entire floor of what looks like an old apartment building. It’s massive. The ceilings are probably 4 meters high with exposed brick and girders. All the furniture is from the 40’s. My door opens onto an outside walkway to the kitchen and the bathroom. We have 2 humongous patios with lounge chairs. I am going to buy a hammock as soon as I see one.

We signed up for a gym membership and it costs $17 US per month, and a .70 cent fee for our membership card. This place is crazy cheap, beautiful, has mouthwatering food, and an atmosphere of absolute relaxation and enjoyment of the little things. I think I am going to love it here and am already regretting that we have only 6 months to spend here..
