Tickets Bought!!!!
So Peter and I bought our tickets today for South America. We were looking for a direct flight to Buenos Aires, but they were too expensive, like 4K each, so we decided to fly into Brazil instead. We thought about San Paolo or Rio de Janeiro, but those flights were booked in May when we want to come back to Europe. So now, we are flying out on Nov 12 on a direct flight from Frankfurt to Salvador Bahia on the Atlantic Coast of Brazil. It’s the third largest city in Brazil and we just read on Wikipedia that the average person makes 447 US per month, so we’re gonna roll into town like gazillionaires with our fancy sports coats and 20 Euro sunglasses. It’s an absolute beach paradise and the seasons are flip-flopped so it’s going to be the start of summer, which I imagine will wreak absolute havoc on our internal clocks. It’s damn near winter in Berlin so my brain is ready for a long spell of cold gray skies. I’m not sure how it will react to sexy Brazilian women with huge racks lounging in the sun in their white bikinis. I think I’ll manage to pull myself together. :)~
Then we’ll board a train and head through some thick jungles down the Atlantic Coast of South America and pass through the rest of Brazil, into Uruguay, and end up in Buenos Aires. I can already imagine the misadventures of this train ride. We’ll be lucky to make it without some mafioso’s throwing us into the back of some trunks and sending our ears to our mamas back home along with ransom demands of ONE THOUSAND dollars.
We have a return ticket going the same way 6 months later. In the meantime who knows. I hear the Argentine women are a delicacy of the highest order, and that the BBQ is almost as sweet. The cost of living is low, the weather is hot, and we’ve only got a 4 hour time difference between there and Cali. That means we can finish work earlier in the day than we do now. Also, no tours or anything else over there; just working on the lappy on the beach everyday, practicing the Spanish, and getting my tan back after this year of bullshit weather in Berlin.
So there you have it. We are officially globe trotters, continent hopping our way across vast depths of ocean for nothing more than a whim and a and bit of the lure of unknown adventure.
It’s amazing what a difference a year can make!
P.S.- Just in case you can’t tell how excited I am, here’s what hot Brazilian women look like. They are hands down the most beautiful people on the planet. I want this woman to birth my children.
